About Us
Liciatron was founded by Alexandra Thabiso Tlelai in 2014. Thabiso, a humble and visionary leader, aimed to transform Komga from a poverty-stricken village into a thriving mining town. Under his leadership, Liciatron became the largest employer in Komga, with over 50 staff, and established the first cut-to-size processing plant in the Eastern Cape.
Thabiso envisioned making the Eastern Cape a major granite mining hub similar to Brits. Tragically, he and his wife passed away in a car accident in November 2020. He had invested millions and believed in the project’s potential to deliver significant returns, create jobs, uplift the local community, and contribute to South Africa’s economy.
The quarry is now managed by Shala King – Managing Director who oversees the plant and is supported by a very capable team.
